Public Comments & Stakeholder Feedback

Right now, our biggest question for you is...

How should the Cannabis PowerScore™ be calculated?

Share Your Advice On Our Biggest Public Process Questions

We are looking for advice on methodology for calculating the PowerScore™. As you consider feedback, please keep in mind that the PowerScore™ is intended to represent the efficient use of energy, therefore renewable energy is not considered. (It will instead factor into our upcoming Cannabis CarbonScore™). To enable more detailed guidance on improving efficiency, we are considering calculating a Lighting score and an HVAC score as well as an Overall score.

Do you support this approach? Considering the data points we are (or are not) capturing, how would you suggest we calculate a Lighting score? An HVAC score? An overall score that is a combined weighting of the Lighting and HVAC score?

Please try the full survey, and provide your wise comments on each page. Check out what data we'll be collecting and suggest your metric for the PowerScore™!

Tens of thousands of industrial scale cannabis production facilities will be built over the next handful of years. How they are designed, constructed and maintained will impact not only natural resources, but also public perception of the cannabis industry.

At the Resource Innovation Institute, we collaborate with the cannabis industry, the private marketplace and the public sector to drive market-based solutions that promote resource efficiency. Our objective is to transform the cannabis market toward carbon-free and water-wise production.

We are convening cannabis cultivators and experts from the energy sector in order to share knowledge and develop best practices. We also seek to foster the creation of a connected set of conservation-minded thought leaders.

Our goal in operating this forum is to provide answers to your questions about cannabis sustainability and create a place where discussions regarding cannabis and resource efficiency may occur.
